10 Craft Ideas To Do With Animal Mandalas Coloring Pages
Here are 10 affordable, fun, and creative craft ideas you can do with your completed coloring page!
10. Gallery Walls/Wall Art
If your home’s walls need livening up, but you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg decorating them, you can use my animal mandalas to create a gallery wall.
You’ll simply pick three or four (or five or six if you’re feeling ambitious! You can always start with a few and add more) and color them in using fine-tip markers or colored pencils.
Then, buy some cheap frames from Walmart or the dollar store, put the pictures in, and hang them up in a decorative array.
To add interest, you could also resize some of the pictures to be smaller or larger and then frame them accordingly.
9. Decorative Plates
These decorative plates make gorgeous DIY gifts for friends and family.
You can head to the dollar store and pick up some ceramic or stoneware plates – and you should grab some Mod Podge, too, if you don’t have any on hand.
You’ll print out the animal mandala of your choice and color it in carefully, then cut it out.
Next, you’ll Mod Podge the cut-out to the plate, taking care to cover the entire thing and apply at least two coats.
Let dry overnight.
In the morning, you’ll have a beautiful bit of home décor that is perfect for your entry, as a key catch-all, in your living room, hung up on a wall, or even in your bedroom, as a jewelry catch-all.
8. Greeting Card Embellishments
If homemade cards are your thing, then you will want to use my animal mandala pictures, front, and center.
You can print them onto cardstock for a sturdier, heavier feel and color them in with fine-tip markers or colored pencils.
Cut them out carefully and paste them to the front of your card – another piece of cardstock, folded in half, perhaps?
Ensure the glue goes all the way to the edges so that your cut-out doesn’t catch on anything and rip.
7. Decorative Trays
You can buy cheap wooden trays from your craft store or even your dollar store at times; again, be sure to pick up some Mod Podge, too, if you don’t have any already.
You’ll color in one of my animal mandalas and then cut it out. Using at least two coats, Mod Podge it to the center of the tray.
You could also do multiples and stagger them on the tray.
Let dry overnight; the Mod Podge seals the cut-outs, so you can use the tray to serve or hold beverages!
6. Magnets
If you have the space on your fridge, my animal mandalas make gorgeous magnets.
You will need shrink sheets, which you can find for less than $10 on Amazon. Print the mandala of your choice onto the shrink sheet and color it in with markers.
Cut it out carefully and bake per your shrink sheets’ instructions. Once it’s cooled, you can hot glue or super glue a small round magnet to the back.
Let the glue dry, and then stick it on your fridge!
5. Clock Faces
My animal mandala pictures would make exquisite clock faces; here’s how to do it.
You’ll need an inexpensive, plastic clock, which you can find pretty cheap at Walmart. Pop the plastic covering off and set it aside. You should be able to lift the existing clock face off.
Next, you’ll want to print out the animal mandala you want to use and place the original clock face over it so that the animal is centered. Trace around the circle.
Color in the animal and cut out the circle. You’ll want to poke a hole in the middle where the clock’s hands attach. You can also opt to add in numbers at this point.
Set the new clock face in and pop the plastic covering back on.
4. Dry Erase Board Backgrounds
To make dry-erase boards, all you need is an 11.5” x 8” picture frame.
You’ll color in the animal mandala of your choice and pop it into the frame. Then you can draw directly onto the glass face with dry-erase markers.
It’s the perfect addition to your counter and helps you keep appointments and reminders fresh in your mind.
3. Mason Jar Pencil Holders
You’ll want to shrink the illustration of your choice down so that it fits entirely onto a large mason jar.
Color it in and cut it out; then you’re going to Mod Podge it to the jar, with the Mod Podge drying clear and sealing the design on.
Top with a ribbon tied into a bow.
2. Jewelry Boxes
You can find small wooden boxes with a top that lifts off or comes hinged at the craft store or dollar store.
You might need to resize the animal mandala, depending on how big your box is; print it and color it in, then cut it out carefully.
You’ll Mod Podge the cut-out to the box lid and let it dry overnight. You could also paint the rest of the box.
1. Apparel Designs
For this craft, you will need a Cricut or similar machine.
You will digitally color in the mandala and then print it onto a piece of iron-on vinyl.
Feed the page into your Cricut using the Print and Cut feature; the machine will do all the work.
You’re left with a perfect cut-out, which you can apply to t-shirts, hoodies, and even canvas totes and secure with a hot iron.
