On today’s Days of Our Lives, Gabi shows up on EJ’s doorstep. They trade a few insults, but Gabi’s there to pick up some of her things. Before she can get to them, EJ demands an apology from her. In fact, she owes him two — for accusing him of destroying her marriage and for slapping him. They then get into him throwing her in prison and ruining her marriage to get revenge for what she did with Nicole.
He’s never getting an apology from her, but he better start groveling at her feet for what he did. They fight some more over whose fault it was that her marriage fell apart, then she storms upstairs to get her stuff.
Javi calls Rafe from the pub — he can’t find the rolls Gabi wanted. To make things worse, Leo walks by. He tries apologizing to Javi, but Gabi’s cousin isn’t interested. Leo made him feel horrible, and he doesn’t put up with that. Period.
He leaves and Alex comes out of the pub, needing to get away from Stephanie and Philip going on and on and on about their past and catching up. Leo gets it, but he’s just too upset to be supportive. He blew it with Javi and he can’t get over it. He fills Alex in, who points out that Leo should apologize.
Leo says he has, but it went nowhere. Alex points out that, at the very least, he can try to track down who’s really playing pretend at Lady Whistleblower. He has to stop them, for the sake of everyone at Body and Soul. But Alex has faith that Leo will track down that sneak that’s trying to ruin Leo and the show. He then invites Leo in to join the Kiriakis Thanksgiving dinner, but Leo’s a man on a mission now.

Javi gets back to Rafe’s with the rolls and tries the family candied sweet potatoes. Then he rages about Leo a bit. Jada gets home, hoping she’s done with interruptions, but Rafe warns her that the commissioner’s job is never done, holiday or not. Jada’s banging her head against the wall over the cupcake conundrum — which is about when Rafe tells her he got a new job.
He got a job at Black Patch as a field operator and both Javi and Jada toast his new role. They’re all happy for him, but Javi makes it awkward a few times talking about Jada taking his old job, then points out that they might be getting in each other’s way working as a PI and the police commissioner.
…But he’s sure they’ll be fine!
Chanel runs over to Paulina to share a chocolate turkey on Thanksgiving. She asks how Abe is and they talk a bit about the cupcakes. Paulina then bashes Johnny a bit, much to Chanel’s annoyance. “A little bit of food poisoning is the least he deserves for insulting you like that.” Chanel snaps at her to stay out of it and leave it between her and Johnny. She’s put what he said in the past and she’s over it.
Paulina’s aghast that Chanel’s forgiven her husband, but grudgingly accepts it when her daughter sings all of Johnny’s praises. Plus, Chanel points out (very wrongly), it’s not like he cheated on her, he just made a dumb mistake. They’ll be just fine. They part on good terms and Chanel promises to be back later for dessert and spend time with Eli, Lani and the kids.
Joy’s on the phone in the square, telling her mom she’s fine being alone, then snaps, as Johnny walks up, “Mom, of course I am staying away from married men!” Joy says bye to her mom and she and Johnny talk a bit more about the tainted cupcakes, Johnny’s awkward dream… and Joy telling Alex about them.

He’s utterly horrified, but Joy promises that Alex doesn’t want to hurt Chanel. Just as Johnny drops a cryptic statement, Chanel wanders over, wants to know what they’re talking about and buys that they’re talking about tainted baked goods. Why not?
This segues into Chanel talking about Talia poisoning the biscuits and how her “friend” betrayed her trust. Johnny tries pulling Chanel off to dinner back home, but Chanel refuses to go without Joy. She’s not going to be alone on Thanksgiving. “We would love for you to join us.” So Chanel just keeps pushing until Joy gives in.
In the show’s final moments, Gabi grabs her stuff and runs out, yelling at each other all the way through the front door. After she storms off, Johnny, Chanel and Joy show up. Johnny and Chanel go to put the food away, leaving Joy with EJ. He pours her a drink, talking casually about how nice it must be to be back in Salem. But it’s time for her to go.

He knows what she and Johnny did and it’s really uncomfortable for her to be there. She thinks he means at Thanksgiving, but no. “I’m not telling you to leave my house, I’m telling you to leave the city.” Johnny feels guilty, so she needs to leave. Joy’s a bit ticked. “He was here first,” EJ mildly tells her. He’ll get her out of her contract and help do whatever’s needed to get her out of here — including paying her whatever it is she feels she’s owed.
He smirks at her, then starts glaring. Johnny and Chanel come in, noticing the tension, but EJ assures them they were just getting acquainted. Before going into the dining room, he quietly tells Joy, “If you’re smart, you’ll take this deal.”
Gabi comes home with her stuff, but barely has time to catch up with everyone when Leo knocks on the door to get stared down by Javi. Leo’s not there for him, though, he wants Rafe. He ran into Steve and heard Rafe’s working for Black Patch and Leo wants to hire him to find Lady Whistleblower.
Next on Days of Our Lives, Jennifer, Jack, Eli and Lani all come home, and Doug passes away.
